Anthony Davies

Born in Hampshire, England, Anthony Davies obtained his MA at the Royal College of Art, London and was awarded a 'Prix de Rome' in engraving.

Davies has had over 85 solo exhibitions of his prints and has represented Great Britain at numerous biennials overseas. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers in 1994. In 1995 he was visiting Professor, Department of Art at Florida State University, Tallahasse, Florida, USA.

Since gaining residency in New Zealand in 1998 he has been teaching printmaking at UNITEC Auckland, AUT Auckland, Wanganui Polytechnic and visiting artist at Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland University, Auckland. He is currently teaching part-time at EIT, Hawkes Bay.
