As part of our commitment to the promotion of unique and quality hand made works, we offer a range of workshops across the mediums of Printmaking, Drawing and Bookbinding.
Our goal is to encourage the development of new skills and techniques within a friendly and supportive environment. Most of our workshops are designed for the beginner and the enthusiast, with some workshops offered as Master Classes with established artists.
Wellington Zoo today announces that one of the newest arrivals at the Zoo, a male Jackson's Chameleon, has been named Solander.
The name was chosen by the Solander Gallery, who have donated ‘Panther Chameleon’ by Kelvin Mann, a beautiful Chameleon etching, to Wellington Zoo Trust Hero HQ in honour of the new arrival. Click here to read more

Bookbinding with Lynn Taylor: Saturday 14 September The intimate nature of a handmade book creates a special place for creative writing, narratives and recording personal thoughts. This one day workshop is designed for people interested in the introductory aspects of bookbinding. Participants will make two books using plain materials, giving you the skills to bind these styles in more exotic papers in the future. (3 places available)
Workshop Bookings
All workshops are $140.00 including all materials and equipment you will need for the day. Places are limited to a maximium of eight participants so booking is essential. A deposit of $70.00 is required to secure your place and can be paid by direct deposit or here in the gallery.
Workshops generally start at 9.30am and finish at 4.00pm.
Our workshops are designed for the complete beginner as well as the more experienced artist.
All workshops take place in the gallery which is an ideal setting to unleash your creativity. We suggest participants wear comfortable shoes and an apron suitable for use with inks.
