Ben Reid
Ben Reid was born in Akaroa in 1974. He studied at Christchurch Polytechnic School of Art and Design, graduating with a degree in Visual Art in 2005.
Ben lives in Christchurch and works as an assistant printer to Marian Maguire, owner of PaperGraphica, a workshop specializing in printing high quality limited edition lithographs, woodcuts and etchings for leading New Zealand artists.
Reid's recent works - to be exhibited in November 2009 - explore conservation themes and incorporate patterning reminiscent of Victorian wallpaper behind drypoint drawings featuring endangered bird life.
