“I am interested in the way that stories underpin culture, religion and our relationship with nature. I am particularly curious about the Animal and Witch archetypes of consciousness and the role they play in stories. Stories tease things out, they look behind daily reality and they create foundations for beliefs. Through my art, I am seeking to do the same. I am transforming snippets of stories heard, read or seen into hybrid forms that are a fluid metamorphosis between animal, plant and culture. They are intended to represent our connection to all life forms and to embrace the shadowy, sexual, organic world that resides within stories, within nature and within the Witch and Animal archetype.”
